Bridging Generations in Indian Schools: Effective Pedagogical Approaches for Gen X Teachers to Engage Gen Z Students
This study investigates effective pedagogical approaches for Generation X (Gen X) teachers to engage Generation Z (Gen Z) students in Indian schools. Gen Z students, raised in digital environments, exhibit distinct learning preferences including shorter attention spans, preference for collaborative and tech-integrated learning, and demand for experiential and personalized education. Using literature review and observational data, the study identifies technology integration, active learning, collaboration, personalized learning, real-life relevance, and communication transparency as key strategies. Results indicate these approaches improve student engagement, participation, and academic performance, bridging generational gaps between teachers and students. The study discusses implications for adaptation of instructional practices to optimize learning outcomes in the evolving educational landscape of India.
