Suriyeli Öğrencilerin Din Eğitiminde Yaşadıkları Sorunlar ve Çözüm Önerileri
The aim of this study is to reveal the problems and solution suggestions experienced in the education of Syrian students studying in public schools together with Turkish students through the eyes of Religious Culture and Ethics (REC) teachers. The study was conducted with thirty teachers who taught Syrian students in Altınordu district of Ordu province in the 2024-2025 academic year. The study was conducted using a case study from qualitative research designs. The study group of the research consists of thirty volunteer DKAB teachers who work in official secondary schools and official imam hatip secondary schools in the central district of Altınordu, Ordu province, and whose schools have the highest number of Syrian students. Data was collected with a semi-structured interview form developed by the researchers and analysed with content analysis. As a result of the research, it was concluded that the majority of teachers working in the education of Syrian students had language problems, that they did not receive any training on this issue before teaching Syrian students, that no work was done in their schools to adapt Syrian students to school, and that they did not see themselves as competent in this regard. Finally, to solve the problems of Syrian students, supportive language and empathy training should be given to teachers first, and psychosocial support should be provided. In addition, teachers should be provided with interpreter support during exams.
