Impact of chemical kinetics on thermal and entropy dynamics in MHD Couette flow of Casson fluid

The motive of this research article is to identify the impact of two step exothermic chemical reaction on thermal and entropy generation in a transient MHD Couette flow of Casson fluid. The reactive Casson fluid has exothermic properties under the influence of Sensitized, Arrhenius, and Bimolecular chemical kinetics. The analytical solution of the dimensionless nonlinear governing equations is obtained by the Laplace transform method coupled by a differential transform technique. The influence of pertinent flow parameters involved in the problem on the thermal distribution and entropy generation for various chemical kinetics is explained graphically. The results reveal that the generation of entropy can be minimized during the two-step exothermic reaction, which is beneficial for engineering systems. • A comprehensive analysis of Couette flow of non-Newtonian Casson fluid with a two-step exothermic chemical reaction has been conducted. • The Laplace Differential Transform Method (LDTM) has been employed to obtain analytical solutions to the nonlinear pde's governing the flow. • The calculated values of the skin friction coefficient, Nusselt number, and Bejan number are presented in tabular format. • The effects of various parameters on heat distribution, entropy generation, and the Bejan number have been illustrated and discussed.
