Muğlalı Şâhidî İbrahim Dede Tuhfe-i Şâhidî Farsça-Türkçe Manzum Sözlük
Verse dictionaries, which aimed to teach subjects such as vocabulary and grammar by memorization and whose target audience was children and beginners, were taught as textbooks during the Ottoman Period. The first examples of the bilingual verse dictionary genre were the works written by researchers working on Arabic. In the Anatolian field, Muğlalı Şâhidî İbrahim Dede's Tuhfe-i Şâhidî, written as a parallel to Tuhfe-i Hüsâmî, the first example of a Persian-Turkish verse dictionary, gained great fame. The abundance of manuscripts, versions and translations of the work has placed this reputation on a solid foundation. The first study on the work in Turkey was Ahmet Hilmi İmamoğlu's doctoral thesis titled "Persian-Turkish Verse Dictionaries and Şâhidî's Dictionary (Review-Text)". The work was published by Muğla University Publications in 2004 and 2005. Since the work is the first work on Tuhfe-i Şâhidî, it was deemed worth examining and introducing it. In this article, the studies on the work are listed, after introducing Tuhfe-i Şâhidî and İmamoğlu's work published in 2005, the deficiencies and errors detected in the publication of the text are stated.
