Antimicrobial and Antidiabetic Activities of Green Synthesized Triphala Mediated AgCl Nanoparticles: An Experimental Study

Abstract In the present study, the effective reformulation of Triphala extract into silver chloride nanocolloids was obtained by varying the amplitude of ultrasonic sound waves, one at 20% (S 20) and another at 35% (S 35), which can be used for curing the harmful diseases caused by microbes. The Structural analysis indicates the formation of the cubic phase of AgCl with crystallite sizes of 49 (S 20) and 18 (S 35) nm, respectively. The FE‐SEM analysis shows that the silver chloride particles are distributed unevenly in the matrix of Triphala, which is supported by the elemental mapping. The structural analysis indicated the reduction of crystallite sizes due to the prevention effect of ultrasonic waves. The optical absorbance of the prepared samples was also reduced with the increase in amplitude of ultrasonication. Biological studies show that synthesized Triphala‐mediated silver chloride nanoparticles have antibacterial potency against S. aureus and E. coli at 5 mg/mL. It shows antifungal efficacy against C. tropicalis and C. albicans . In addition, it also exhibits moderate antidiabetic activity.
