Intense flat DUV‐MIR White Laser Enables Simultaneous Spectroscopic Monitoring of Electronic Transition and Molecular Vibration

Abstract An intense flat white laser from deep ultraviolet (DUV) to mid‐infrared (MIR) with 200–5000 nm@15 dB bandwidth, 1.05 mJ pulse energy, and 2.5 ps pulse duration is presented by sending a 5.5 mJ intense MIR femtosecond laser through a nonlinear optical module consisting of a gas‐filled hollow‐core fiber and a chirped‐periodic poling lithium niobate nonlinear crystal supporting simultaneous broadband 2nd–12th harmonic generation. This four‐high white laser is successfully used to simultaneously probe the DUV‐MIR spectroscopic response of a series of molecules, liquids, and solids, including sodium copper chlorophyllin, carbon dots, ethanol, and silica glass. The white laser would offer an unprecedented power to simultaneously monitor the electronic transition, molecular vibration, and lattice oscillation in a wide variety of physics, chemical, and biological processes.
