Application of extracellular vesicles in Coagulation and immunothrombosis

Aim:This article aims to review the role, mechanism and clinical application potential of extracellular vesicles from different sources in coagulation and immunothrombosis. Methods:Through literature review, the functions and mechanisms of EVs derived from various cells (such as platelets, white blood cells, endothelial cells, etc.) in the coagulation cascade reaction and immune thrombosis were analyzed. Results:Studies have shown that EVs mainly play multi-faceted roles in coagulation and immunothrombosis through key pathways such as exposure to phosphatidylserine, carrying tissue factors, and mediating glycoprotein interactions. It is closely related to the occurrence and development of thrombotic diseases (such as cancer, sepsis, COVID-19), showing great potential as a new diagnostic and prognostic biomarker. In addition, EVs and their engineered products can be used as innovative drug delivery systems for the treatment of antithrombotic and thrombotic inflammatory diseases. Conclusion:EVs play a key role in blood coagulation and immunothrombosis, and have significant clinical translational prospects. They can serve as potential biomarkers and novel therapeutic strategies.
