Improving the Energy Efficiency of 20 kV Distribution Networks Using Reactive Power Compensation Devices with Artificial Intelligence Control

Improving the energy efficiency of power transmission lines is a very important topic in the modern energy industry. However, it is worth noting that lines with a voltage class of 20 kV are a non-widespread class within Kazakhstan, lines with a voltage of 6 kV, 10 kV and 35 kV are more popular. This article discusses the issue of improving the energy efficiency of Astana city's 20 kV distribution networks using the example of the Olymp substation, using reactive power compensation and artificial intelligence-based control. To ensure and fulfill these criteria, the use of artificial intelligence uses global experience in predicting both loads, generation, and electricity prices, and the positive result of Denmark, which uses machine learning tools and models such as TBATS, ANN, and ARIMA. Such knowledge in the field of energy can be the first steps for assessing and forecasting consumption for the next 10 years, based on the data on consumption of Astana city for the period from 2014-2024
