Traqueobroncopatía Osteocondroplástica: Reporte de un Caso
Tracheobronchopathia osteochondroplastica is a rare condition of still unknown etiology, whose clinical presentation is mostly asymptomatic or nonspecific and, in severe cases, may cause airway obstruction. Imaging studies and bronchoscopy, together with the results of bronchial biopsy, are usually essential for its diagnosis. Treatment is generally aimed at symptomatic management. We present the clinical case of a patient evaluated by the Imaging and Pulmonology Department of Hospital José Carrasco Arteaga in the city of Cuenca, with a diagnosis of tracheobronchopathia osteochondroplastica involving the tracheobronchial region. This work provides information on the clinical presentation and complementary tests to be performed, as well as their possible suggestive findings, which may be useful for suspicion, early diagnosis, and timely management of this little-known condition.
