Popliteal Artery Pseudoaneurysm Secondary to Osteochondroma in a Patient with Multiple Hereditary Exostosis – A Rare Vascular Complication

Hereditary multiple exostoses (HME) is a rare autosomal dominant disorder characterized by multiple benign osteochondromas, primarily affecting long bones. We report a case of a 27-year-old female with HME presenting with pain and swelling in the left lower limb. Imaging revealed a pseudoaneurysm of the distal superficial femoral artery caused by adjacent osteochondroma. Diagnosis was established using radiographs, Doppler ultrasound, magnetic resonance imaging, and computed tomography angiography. The patient underwent successful surgical excision of the osteochondroma with vascular repair. This case underscores the importance of considering vascular complications in symptomatic HME patients. Early imaging and multidisciplinary management are crucial for optimal outcomes.
