Thermal Optimization of High Power Phase-Shift Bridge LLC Resonant Converters Through Variable Inductance for Electric Vehicle Applications by Finite Element Analysis

This paper proposes a thermal optimization strategy for high-power phase-shift bridge LLC converters in electric vehicle (EV) charging systems. The approach leverages variable inductance to minimize thermal losses and improve overall converter efficiency. Finite element analysis (FEA) is employed to model and evaluate thermal performance under a range of operating conditions. Simulation results demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed method, showing a reduction in power losses of up to 159 W compared to conventional inductor designs. This application-oriented work contributes to the advancement of efficient power conversion technologies, supporting the broader transition to sustainable transportation.
