Highlights of Revisions to Reference Codes in the 2025 Edition of BPVC

Abstract There have been many revisions published in the 2025 Edition to Section II, Parts A and B; Section II, Part D; Section V; and Section IX. This paper addresses the latest major changes in those reference Codes. There are several major editorial and technical revisions to the Codes within the scope of this paper. Examples of such revisions are: • II-A & II-B – many specifications have been significantly updated • II-D – many Code Cases are incorporated, many data values are revised, many additional data are added, and N08xxx materials are moving from SB to SA specifications • V – many standards have been updated, an inservice NDE subsection is added, and leak test rules have been revised • IX – toughness has a new variable, duplex stainless steels have a new guideline, bend testing and tube-to-tubesheet rules have been relaxed, and many materials have new or revised assigned P-Numbers
