Abstract

Global social protection policies are considered, that are essential for ensuring access to quality childcare and long-term care, promoting a fair work-life balance for workers, and promoting gender equality in employment and in the family and society. The origins of social protection lie in the first World Development Report of 1990, which emphasized the need for governments to put in place mechanisms to help people in short-term stresses and disasters. These mechanisms became commonly known as social safety nets, which have since evolved into systems. The establishment of universal social protection systems that provide adequate protection throughout the life cycle and combine social insurance, social assistance and other means are enshrined in the national development strategies of each state. The object of the study is the global policy of social protection. The aim of the study is to consider the main directions of global social protection policy conducted by intergovernmental organizations in modern conditions. Having studied the scientific literature, policy documents of intergovernmental organizations and individual states, the authors of the study have come to the conclusion that there are various obstacles in the implementation of social protection policy measures and offer measures to improve the implementation of social protection policy at the global level. Theoretical conclusions and practical recommendations are the result of the use of methods of analysis and synthesis, statistical and comparative analysis, complex generalization
