Precision Push Services and the Information Cocoon Effect: Impacts and Solutions
The rapid advancement of digital technologies has led to the rise of precision push services, which deliver personalized content through big data and artificial intelligence. While enhancing user experience, these services raise concerns about information diversity and cognitive limitations, particularly through the Information Cocoon Effect. This effect, where users are exposed only to content aligning with their existing beliefs, leads to cognitive closure and ideological polarization. This paper explores the relationship between precision push services and the Information Cocoon Effect, analyzing how algorithmic recommendation systems contribute to this phenomenon and proposing strategies like algorithmic transparency, media literacy, and platform social responsibility to balance personalization with ideological diversity.
