A generic criteria to evaluate background harmonic amplifications risk in meshed grids
This paper presents a generic method to compute steady-state background harmonic amplifications in meshed transmission grids using nodal admittance matrix. It focuses on networks whose structure is modified by the insertion of underground cables. The method is used to define a new risk criterion to identify the critical length of radial underground cable which can lead to problematic harmonic amplifications for each 225 kV and 400 kV substation on the French transmission grid.
