A Hybrid Scheme for Voltage Control and Energy Loss Minimization in Active Distribution Networks with Uncertainties Using Chance-Constrained MPC
In this paper, a stochastic real-time model based on chance-constrained model predictive control is proposed for coordinated voltage control in active distribution networks. Leveraging multi-timescale coordination of PVs, EVCSs, and OLTC, the model employs a scenario-based approach to manage nodal power uncertainties while ensuring network voltage constraints. Computational efficiency is enhanced by reducing the scenarios generated by Monte-Carlo simulations, using backward scenario reduction technique. The proposed strategy is verified on 33-bus network to examine the effectiveness in handling nodal power uncertainties as compared to deterministic solution strategies, while reducing the network power losses.
