Classic but controversial objects: black holes

<div> In this article, which addresses the questions raised by the existence of these objects, which are among the most mysterious in the universe -black holes -we attempt to reconstruct the genesis of the knowledge that has developed about them, before addressing crucial questions concerning their existence, nature, and form, as well as the consequences of these questions for our knowledge of the universe and its destiny. These questions are all the more crucial given that, after being anticipated, then forgotten for over a century, then rediscovered, and finally increasingly accepted, black holes are today once again contested objects, particularly due to certain advances in quantum physics. </div>

Abstract

<div> In this article, which addresses the questions raised by the existence of these objects, which are among the most mysterious in the universe -black holes -we attempt to reconstruct the genesis of the knowledge that has developed about them, before addressing crucial questions concerning their existence, nature, and form, as well as the consequences of these questions for our knowledge of the universe and its destiny. These questions are all the more crucial given that, after being anticipated, then forgotten for over a century, then rediscovered, and finally increasingly accepted, black holes are today once again contested objects, particularly due to certain advances in quantum physics. </div>
