Role of gravitational particle creation in the formation of charged wormhole structures
We explore the formation of traversable wormholes within general relativity, where the exotic matter requirement is effectively replaced by a particle creation mechanism in an electrically charged medium. The repulsive Coulomb force counteracts collapse, while the back-reaction pressure from particle creation provides effective negative pressure, together sustaining the wormhole throat. First, assuming an inverse power-law form of particle creation pressure with a finite redshift function, we derive the corresponding shape function and visualize the geometry through 2D and 3D embedding diagrams. Next, adopting the reverse approach, we analyze two well-known shape functions and determine the particle creation pressures consistent with equilibrium. In both cases, we test the energy conditions, showing that the combined effects of charge and particle creation can violate the null energy condition without requiring explicitly exotic matter. Our results indicate that gravitational particle creation, together with charge effects, can act as a realistic source for traversable wormholes, providing a semiclassical route to their stability.
