Men’s Cancer Screening After 40 - A Guide for Men’s Health
Men are more likely to develop and die from cancer than women, especially from lung, prostate, colorectal, and skin cancers. Routine cancer screening allows cancers to be found at an earlier stage, when treatment is more effective and the chances of survival are greater. For men over 40, the risk of developing cancer increases significantly, making screening more important at this age. Different cancers require different tests, like lung scans for lung cancer, PSA blood tests for prostate cancer, and colonoscopies or stool tests for colorectal cancer. A conversation with your doctor can help determine which screening is most appropriate for your age, health, and risk profile.
