Research on the economic model of operation of social organizations
The significance of assessing the economic model of operation of social sector organizations functioning in various institutional contexts is due to the increasing competition for public resources and the corresponding rise in the number of models for allocating budgetary and extrabudgetary funds to support private organizations. This situation places particular demands on the organizational models for providing social services and highlights the importance of examining the resource allocation model in organizations across various sectors of the economy. The aim of this paper is to develop methodological approaches for assessing the economic model of an organization's operation in the social sector and to test them using the example of social service providers. During the research, a scientific hypothesis regarding the existence of differences in the operation of social organizations belonging to the government and non-government sectors of the economy was formulated and tested. The study's information base was formed based on data on the performance of 315 organizations involved in caring for older people and disabled people. The sources of information included the official website for posting information about government (municipal) institutions and the SPARK-InterFax website for monitoring business activity. As a result of the research, it was concluded that organizations belonging to the public sector provide a greater volume of services at lower costs per customer. This is due to the relatively large number of services and the low cost of providing fixed facilities, as well as the use of a tendering procurement system. Based on the findings of the analysis, it is suggested to promote the growth of private social services in order to achieve the outcomes observed in public institutions.
