Brevedad poliédrica en la lectura no ficcional desde la metáfora
The objective of this paper is to examine the role played by illustrated non-fiction books from the point of view of their materiality. To this end, a documentary analysis of non-fictional readings has been applied, enabling the delimitation of the new publishing realities on which the literary fact of the informational book is based, both from the perspective of production and reception. The parameters of brevity and its association with images –so characteristic of digital media– and current changeable thinking configure and gestate a polyhedral constellation that is an unequivocal reflection of the changing and gaseous society in which we are embedded. The results obtained show that it is possible to analyse non-fictional literatures under a metaphor of the cultural ecosystem in which the materiality of the book, biliteracy, virtual epitexts, fragmentary readings and fractals, text-visual relations, and hypertextuality and transmedia coexist. Likewise, the role of non-fictional reading is reinforced as a key tool in the development of critical reading as a response and ally to the reader/spectator maelstrom of hypermedia brevity representative of social networks.
