Urban Land-Use Optimization Based on Data with Multiple Sources

The internal landscape allocation of urban development boundaries (UDBs) is a core feature of China’s land space planning. To prevent urban sprawl and promote efficient land use, it is crucial to define UDBs. This study uses Changsha City, China, as a case to explore optimizing landscape allocation within UDBs by coupling the CLUMondo model with a spatial game model. The study shows that inside the UDB, land prices and floor area ratios affect managers’ land concession decisions and producers’ investment orientation choices but minimally impact the residential space layout. With regard to traffic convenience, the degree of accessibility is positively correlated with the designations of business and residential landscapes. Because most of the low-value areas of ecosystem service types roughly overlap with the city’s UDB, the spatial behavior constraints of the ecosystem service values for each agent are low within the UDB. In summary, this study proposes a landscape allocation model for Changsha city with an agricultural and natural periphery as a circular ecological corridor to allow for an orderly and constrained expansion of the city. Moreover, the internal layout of urban residential and commercial service landscapes supports sustainable economic and social development.
