Response of Fenugreek (<i>Trigonella Foenum-Graecum</i> L.) to Bacterial Inoculum, Zeolite and Organic Fertilizer and its Effect on Growth, Yield and its Components.

Abstract The effects of bacterial inoculants, zeolites and organic fertilizers on the growth characteristics, yield and composition of fenugreek (Trigonella foenum-graecum L.) were studied in a field trial conducted in Talmiyah city (soil loam-sandy) in the north-central region of Baghdad Governorate, Iraq, during the winter of 2022-2023 and 2023-2024. The trial included 24 treatments based on a combination of zeolites and organic fertilizers (sheep manure) with the addition of bacterial inoculants (Sinorrhiza meliloti) and without inoculants (0, 200 ml and 400 ml/25 kg seeds). The experiment was based on a randomized controlled trial (RCBD) design with a split-plot factorial system (factorial) and three replications. The main plot contained a combination of zeolites and organic fertilizers, while the secondary plot contained bacterial inoculants (Sinorrhiza meliloti). The results of the study showed that the treatment with bacterial inoculants (S. meliloti) at a concentration of 400 ml performed better in terms of vegetative growth, yield and composition. The combination of 100 kg of zeolite per hectare and 24 tons of organic fertilizer per hectare performed well in terms of plant growth, yield and composition.
