Late recanalization of an atrial septal defect closure device treated with three multifenestrated devices
Late onset of shunts through atrial septal defect (ASD) closure devices is extremely rare and may be related to the reabsorption of polypropylene fabric. We report a case of a 57-year-old patient who, 6 years after the procedure to close the ASD, developed a significant shunt through the occluder and was treated with the implantation of three devices.
