A zero-sequence injection method to reduce electromagnetic interference

Frequent switching will cause serious electromagnetic interference (EMI), which not only affects the performance of the inverter itself but also emits interference in the form of conduction and radiation, impacting nearby systems. This paper proposes a zero-sequence injection pulse width modulation (ZIPMW) to suppress conducted EMI. Experimental results show that compared to conventional space vector PWM, ZIPWM can reduce EMI by 5-10dB in the 300kHz-3MHz range.

Abstract

Frequent switching will cause serious electromagnetic interference (EMI), which not only affects the performance of the inverter itself but also emits interference in the form of conduction and radiation, impacting nearby systems. This paper proposes a zero-sequence injection pulse width modulation (ZIPMW) to suppress conducted EMI. Experimental results show that compared to conventional space vector PWM, ZIPWM can reduce EMI by 5-10dB in the 300kHz-3MHz range.
