Investigation of the chemical composition of the naphthene-paraffin fraction of zagly oil by gas chromatographic method

As a result of the analysis, it was revealed that the naphthene-paraffin fraction of Zagly oil mainly consists of saturated hydrocarbons (acyclic aliphatic hydrocarbons, acyclic hydrocarbons with isoprenoid structures).Among the identified compounds, 71.6% are paraffins, 15% are naphthenes, and 13.4% include alkenes, ethers, alcohols, and chlorinated compounds. The C12-C21 paraffins consist mainly of substituted decane, dodecane, undecane, nonadecane, pentadecane, hexadecane, and heptadecane derivatives, along with unsubstituted C13-C19 compounds.Hydrocarbons such as methyl-and propyl-substituted nonane, dimethyl-substituted octane, and ethyl-substituted heptane are also present. From the C21-C54 range, heneicosane and its derivative 10-methylheneicosane, several higher alkanes (up to C54), and complex branched compounds were detected.A significant number of oddcarbon alkanes (C11-C43) indicates their origin from animal fatty acids through decarboxylation. The presence of regular and irregular isoprenoid alkanes (C21) suggests precursors larger than phytane, such as pristane, phytane, crosane, and related trimethyl-and tetramethyl-substituted hydrocarbons.Cycloaliphatic hydrocarbons (C12-C26, excluding C20 and C22) consist mainly of substituted cyclohexane, octane, undecane, and dodecane derivatives.Tridecane compounds differ by being 3-to 6-substituted cyclohexyl derivatives. Most compounds in the naphthene-paraffin component (e.g., squalene, tetracosane, nonacosane, hentriacontane) possess pharmacological activity, including antibacterial, antifungal, antitumor, and larvicidal properties. They hold potential for pharmaceutical drug development and applications in medicine, cosmetology, science, and industry
