Representations of Collage in Modern Saudi Novel Immanence approximation in structure and semantic.

This study handles the technique of “Collage” how it appears in modern Saudi novel as a postmodernism technique and an experimental phenomenon used and functioned by Saudi novelists in their novel texts. It is obvious that this technique has not been scientifically and separately studied in a way that can cope with its distinguished existence in the Saudi novel products. Hence, the importance of this study is that it is the first of its kind, according to my knowledge, that handles the collage structure in a closely, interrogatively and interpretatively way. I have depended upon the internal immanence approach accompanied by the contextual approaches that deepen our understanding to texts. The study’s sample has included three Saudi novels that were chosen depending upon their diversity that achieves the research’s goals in addition to their comprehensiveness that can be used to give answers for a number of questions most importantly are: How was Collage functioned in Saudi novels? What are its most prominent styles and formats? What is its relation to the structures of novel architecture? What are the structural and interpretative semantics that were raised by it through the studied novel texts? Accordingly, the study consisted of an introduction, two sections and a conclusion. The introduction has given a short brief about “collage” displaying its deep roots in art and fine arts in a general way uncovering its relation to the written narrative arts. Then, the introduction has given a definition to the narrative collage shedding the light upon its importance and functions. The first section has handled the growing total collage while the second section has handled the limited partial collage (the linguistic and visual collage). The study ended with a conclusion of the most prominent results and recommendations .
