The Verses That Abrogated Others and The Abrogated Ones Regarding Marriage

Given the importance of knowing abrogation in some of the verses of the Quran, and the legal rulings derived from that, as the rulings of marriage are the most important matters one should learn about. Therefore, the study came to discuss the case of abrogation in the verses of marriage, and to explain the discussion among scholars regarding these verses. Furthermore, studying the difference of opinion among scholars, and evaluating those sayings with what is believed to be the truth that Allaah (sw) has legislated. The study was divided into two sections: The first section: The preface, in which the discussion will be about the meaning of abrogation, its types, and its importance. The second section: The study of the verses that abrogated others and the abrogated ones regarding marriage, which scholars talked about, their differences concerning abrogated and non-abrogated verses, their evidence and statements. Seven verses have been studied by the researcher. Those ones that were researched and studied by scholars. The researcher found that some of those verses do not fall under the category of abrogation - even though some scholars considered them to be included - and therefore, the disagreement amongst scholars is weak. However, in some of the cases, the disagreement is strong, and the evidence is equivalent. Therefore, discussing that and clarifying the most correct opinion was extremely important. The researcher recommends a detailed study of the verses in which abrogation took place in the matters of divorce, khul’ (divorce by abdication), Iddeh (divorce waiting period) and Nefeqeh (wife and children's financial maintenance). This will assist judges and students of knowledge to know the legal rulings people need in this important matter in life. In this study, the researcher adopted the inductive, analytical and deductive method
