‘ALI GDE JE OPASNOST, RASTE I SPASONOSNO’ – JEDNO VIĐENJE OPASNOSTI OD DIGITALNOG TOTALITARIZMA I NJENO MOGUĆE PREVAZILAŽENJE
he author in this paper, relying on the relevant literature like Narrow Corridor by Daron Acemoglu and James Robinson and Harari’s book 21 Lessons for the 21. Century, at first puts forward and explains the possible dangers of abuse of the modern informatic technologies, artificial intelligence, total and ubiquitous digitalization so that we can easily become their product which will be totally controlled and manipulated by them and not the other way round. The author also shows possible essential limiting and even total cancelling of human individual liberty and dignity, that is, of the institution which is already from Hegel’s Philosophy of Right called ‘civil society’ where one’s individual interests, rights and wide range of personal liberties as well as the possibilities of forming organizations independent from state fundamentally manifest and satisfy. Harari’s study very convincingly and with a lot of arguments puts forward the possibilities of the digital totalitarianism, but, what I want to stress, he points out that the possible way out from this unenviable situation is precisely studying and getting to know the real functioning and capacities of our mind which is exactly the factor which has created the artificial intelligence and brought about the informatic revolution at all. Therefore, he too sees the solution in the universal life-saving power of human mind which has been especially produced in modern epoch and which has been characteristic and specific for it starting from Descartes’s revolution – that is self-critical self-reflection of human mind.
