Editor Note to article entitled “S-shaped grey wolf optimizer-based FOX algorithm for feature selection” [Heliyon 10 (2024) e24192]

An investigation conducted on behalf of the journal by Elsevier's Research Integrity & Publishing Ethics team has determined that 2 citations were added to this paper which are not relevant to the topic of the paper and which benefit an author. In addition, the authors were requested by two of the reviewers to insert redundant references to their paper during the peer-review process. As these citations were requested by an individual who could influence the decision to accept the article, the authors are not considered at fault for the addition of these citations.
