ČOVEK PROTIV MAŠINE – KORENI TOTALITARIZMA VEŠTAČKE INTELIGENCIJE
This paper traces part of the history of the development of artificial intelligence and its efforts to equalize and surpass the intellectual abilities and capacities of humans, in order to achieve higher goals. The moment when this happened also represents the main focus of this work, which was 1997, when the supercomputer Deep Blue defeated the then world champion Kasparov in a chess match. That event was marked as the triumph of artificial intelligence over man, announcing the beginning of its hegemony and totalitarianism in the twenty- first century. Presenting and describing the implications of this event, as well as the circumstances that led to it, is the primary goal of this work. There are very specific reasons that led artificial intelligence to find the roots of totalitarianism precisely in chess, as the main representative of the group of mind sports. The re- emergence of totalitarian ideology, from the perspective of artificial intelligence as its representative in the twenty-first century, is also partially covered. The development of artificial intelligence is in direct correlation with the changes that befell the world of chess and other thought sports, after the triumph of the machine over man. The interconnection and impacts that artificial intelligence and mind sports have, at first glance, have beneficial implications for both parties. A more detailed analysis of these processes shows that only artificial intelligence records exclusively positive impressions, while mind sports, despite their growing popularity, face serious consequences. Artificial intelligence in the form of various computer softwares has become an indispensable component of all chess players, amateurs and professionals. The operating model of artificial intelligence in the chess world, as well as its use among players, represents a universal matrix according to which other areas of everyday life also fall under its totalitarianism. Artificial intelligence is gradually taking over one area of social life at a time and placing it under the umbrella of its authoritarianism
