SANJAJU LI LJUDI DIGITALNE OVCE?

nspired by Dick’s novel and his question concerning “electric sheep,” this paper takes a similar inquiry—now situated within the context of human identity and digital presence. Are such attempts of constructing our identity ultimately illusory? The paper explores three fundamental issues: human identity in the digital age, the threat of digital totalitarianism in the form of surveillance capitalism, and the problem of artificial intelligence as the current pinnacle of digital technology. Our aim is to examine the nature of digital totalitarianism and the ways in which it fundamentally differs from its historical antecedents. We will analyze the practical applications of artificial intelligence in the collection of behavioral data for capital accumulation, as well as its potential use in the surveillance and erosion of individual privacy. The final section of the paper addresses the possible threat posed by the modification of personality through digital technologies. As a potential path out of this digital “dream,” philosophy is offered—though the future remains deeply uncertain.

Abstract

nspired by Dick’s novel and his question concerning “electric sheep,” this paper takes a similar inquiry—now situated within the context of human identity and digital presence.
