VEŠTAČKA INTELIGENCIJA U SLUŽBI DEMOKRATIJE
We are witnessing a rapid technological advancement and an even more dizzying human rush into decadence. Democracy is making significant efforts to “improve” the life of the modern person through various programs and incentives, and artificial intelligence is also being offered to us. The democracy that is presented to us, and which Plato and Aristotle mentioned, closely resembles totalitarian systems, only its tools are propaganda and mind control. Some of the well-known dystopias point to the issue of books and reading, such as “Fahrenheit 451”. The metaphorical depiction of book burning and the arrest of those who read can be seen in today’s world. By placing artificial intelligence in the “service” of the people, we create apathy and disinterest among younger generations towards any form of reading and critical thinking because they no longer have the need for it—artificial intelligence does it for them. Any form of Sartrean engagement is unacceptable and condemning. The problem of inertia and complacency in the democratic system, especially the American democratic system, creates a susceptible mass for manipulation and propaganda distribution; let us remember that propaganda is the deadliest weapon of democracy. Any critical thinking and any form of knowledge for knowledge’s sake are simply obstacles to democracy. “Social” networks, artificial intelligence, and the collapse of the education system create a non-critical mass that can be easily controlled and will choose whatever is presented as good, because they will not be able to think for themselves. Anyone who steps out of the newly-formed Plato’s cave will face the fate of Plato’s hero, or perhaps even worse, because the system of totalitarian democracy does not allow you to be different, and God forbid, smarter.
