Simulation of the thermal state of the modernized nozzle block of an anti-aircraft guided missile 9M333 of SA-13 Gopher

The results of the mathematical modeling of thermal processes occurring in the modernized nozzle block of an antiaircraft guided missile 9M333 of SA-13 Gopher are presented. The purpose of the study was to substantiate the design dimensions of a refractory molybdenum alloy liner. The results of the numerical modeling were compared with the experimental studies, and a good qualitative and quantitative agreement was found. In particular, the values of the controlled value of the temperature on the surface of the nozzle block matched well. There was no peak of the critical cross-section in the experiment either. The calculations showed that the surface temperature of the refractory liner was far enough from the melting point. Based on the simulation results, the possibility of reducing the thickness of the refractory liner was shown.
