Research on Integrated Electricity-Gas System Planning Considering High Proportion of Wind and Solar power Integration

With the increasing share of renewable energy, integrated electricity-gas distribution systems (IEGDS) have been developing rapidly, highlighting the necessity of further research. To address the multi-facility planning challenges of IEGDS under the integration of renewable energy sources, a distributionally robust planning model based on Kullback-Leibler (KL) divergence is proposed. This model employs distributionally robust optimization (DRO), leveraging KL divergence to account for the stochasticity of renewable energy generation, as well as the uncertainties in electricity and gas loads. Finally, a case study is conducted to validate the model’s accuracy and effectiveness. The analysis demonstrates that increasing the variety of investment facilities not only reduces total system costs but also enhances operational flexibility.
