Study on the Development of Green Power and Green Certificate Market and Countermeasures in the Context of Dual Carbon
China is actively advancing its energy sector transformation to achieve the critical objectives of carbon peak and carbon neutrality. This shift has driven significant growth in renewable energy production, particularly in wind and solar power. Yet, as green power trading occupies a larger portion of the electricity market, new challenges have emerged, the government has introduced policies to encourage broader participation in renewable energy trading. nevertheless are still problems like inadequate demand for green power, insufficient policy transmission, and poor integration between the carbon and energy markets as a result of China's tardy adoption of green power trading. To advance China's adoption of renewable energy, this study analyzes the present landscape of green power trading within the country and abroad, identifies the underlying challenges, and proposes targeted strategies. The recommendations focus on stimulating market demand for clean energy, enhancing coordination between electricity and carbon markets, and improving certification systems for sustainable power consumption.
