PWM Switching Strategies for ANPC Inverter with Closed Loop Control
The paper shows a simulation of a three-level Active Neutral-Point-Clamped (ANPC) inverter controlled by closed loop control with Space Vector Pulse Width Modulation (SVPWM) testing different closed loop control methods and PWM switching methods. The whole model, which includes: ANPC inverter model, SVPWM generation and closed loop controls, were made using Matlab/Simulink application. The research focuses on the explanation of different PWM switching strategies and unique implementation capabilities in an ANPC type inverter. Tests include: output voltage THD using FFT analyzer, neutral point balance. The study highlights pros and cons in applying various PWM switching strategies for ANPC inverter, particularly output voltage quality, neutral point balancing, fault chance reduction, as different PWM methods can be applied to different situations and/or affect switch utilization. Simulation provides theoretical insights into estimated real life experimental results and applications of such a contraption.
