1.5KW HSC Converter Power Density-Efficiency Advancement: Enabled by Planar Transformer
Amid growing demands for high - efficiency power in data centers and enterprise servers, this paper presents a novel 1.5kW non - isolated, unregulated step - down Hybrid Switched Capacitor (HSC) converter. The HSC converter, with a unique topology using only two - winding for 4:1 voltage conversion, reduces design complexity. The proposed planar transformer, featuring an offset core and optimized windings, cuts losses effectively. Experiments show a peak efficiency of ~98.2% and full - load efficiency of 97.4%. A 60ns dead time enables MOSFET zero - voltage switching (ZVS), and experimental waveforms match simulations, validating the approach's practicality for high power density applications.
