GaN-based 1.5 MHz Synchronous Buck Converter with Partial Soft-Switching Control Scheme
This paper presents a systematic design methodology for a GaN-based synchronous Buck converter. The study introduces an analog hysteresis control scheme that enables precise and continuous tracking of perturbation current. Furthermore, based on the proposed control scheme, this work establishes analytical models for the quantitative assessment of power losses during both hard-switching and soft-switching operations, and proposes a partial soft-switching control scheme. Finally, an experimental prototype with 1.5 MHz switching frequency was developed, the efficiency is improved by 3% with the proposed partial soft-switching control scheme.
