Distributed Event-Triggered Voltage Control with Guaranteed Minimum Inter-Event Times in Microgrid
This paper introduces a distributed tracking-based voltage co-regulation strategy for microgrid systems, ensuring positive minimum inter-event times. Initially, the feedback linearization technique addresses nonlinear distributed generator (DG) dynamics, transforming the AC microgrid voltage regulation problem into a linear multi-agent system framework incorporating nonlinear dynamics. Furthermore, an event-triggered approach grounded in tracking control is developed. The proposed event-triggering mechanism establishes the absence of Zeno behavior and guarantees a strictly positive minimum inter-event times between consecutive DG events. This design also enhances practicality over conventional event triggering, as hardware limitations invariably necessitate a positive minimum time constraint between events. The protocol introduced here is fully distributed, scalable, and requires no global information about the network graph. Simulation outcomes ultimately validate the strategy’s effectiveness.
