Formación de directivos docentes en Colombia: una reflexión sobre el tema

This reflection article seeks to raise the need for the Colombian Ministry of National Education to develop postgraduate and continuing education programs in educational leadership to train urban and rural school and higher education institution leaders, since the current training offerings have focused only on urban school leaders. Initially, an analysis of the legislation regarding the profile of educational leaders is presented, then the competencies that educational leaders must possess are explored, and subsequently the academic training they require to adequately perform their duties is reviewed. Finally, guidelines are proposed so that the Ministry of Education can develop training programs for all types of educational leaders, making them accessible to graduates and professionals who also wish to train in educational leadership.
