A Novel Approach for DoA Estimation of Coherent Sources with Leaky-Wave Antennas
Leaky-wave antennas (LWAs) enable cost-effective subspace-based high-resolution DoA estimation but struggle with coherent sources due to their non-Vandermonde steering matrix. Thus, this paper proposes a spatially filtered interpolation (SFI) method, which first divides the whole field of view into several angular sectors. Then, in each sector, the actual LWA steering matrix is transformed into a Vandermonde matrix while reducing interference from out-of-sector sources. Simulation results show the effectiveness of the proposed method.
