Reply to “Comment on ‘The optimized mathematical treatment of the correct cutoff for integrals with the Rutherford scattering cross section’ ” [Phys. Plasmas 32, 104701 (2025)]

In his comment on the paper “The optimized mathematical treatment of the correct cutoff for integrals with the Rutherford scattering cross section” [Chang, Phys. Plasmas 32, 082107 (2025)], Fitzpatrick has compared the conventional Coulomb logarithm with our result for a typical fusion plasma parameter and found an insignificant difference of 0.49 [R. Fitzpatrick, Phys. Plasmas 32, 104701 (2025)]. I totally agree with his analysis and conclusion. But our exact result with the correct cutoff has its unique value in the accuracy and correctness. The comment supports the correctness of our analysis and completes our work by providing a method for determine δmin from the Debye length. In this reply, we demonstrate how the cutoff on the impact parameter b≤bmax failed to remove the divergence of an integral, which may be opposite to the intuition of the majority.
