Recurrent Huge Aortic Aneurysm, Myocardial Infarction, and Aortic Insufficiency in a Patient With Longstanding Behcet's Disease: A Case Report of a Rare Triple Presentation
Behçet's disease is a systemic inflammatory disorder with an incompletely understood pathophysiology. Its clinical manifestations are highly diverse, affecting multiple organs throughout the body. In some cases, Behçet's disease presents with large arterial involvement, as aneurysms, which resulted from perivascular and endovascular inflammation, if not identified and treated promptly, can be life-threatening. Cardiac valve and coronary artery involvement are other manifestations of Behçet's. They are very rare and are often associated with poor prognosis. The case presented in this report illustrates a combination of strange and severe manifestations of Behçet's disease over time, including extensive aortic aneurysm, coronary artery aneurysm leading to myocardial infarction, and aortic valve insufficiency. In addition to appropriate pharmacological treatment, the patient underwent two open-heart surgeries and one percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI), with successful outcomes.
