Comment on ‘New angular momentum conservation laws for electromagnetic waves interacting with Dirac fields’

Abstract We show that the decomposition of the angular momentum density into parts introduced in Khosravi et al (2024 New J. Phys. 26 093041) suffers from a severe problem. Contrary to the authors’ claims, the proposed splitting of the angular momentum density violates the principle of locality: the fundamental property of any relativistic theory.

Abstract

Abstract We show that the decomposition of the angular momentum density into parts introduced in Khosravi et al (2024 New J. Phys. 26 093041) suffers from a severe problem. Contrary to the authors’ claims, the proposed splitting of the angular momentum density violates the principle of locality: the fundamental property of any relativistic theory.
