Integration of Artificial Intelligence Technologies into the Publishing Industry: The Concept of the "Intelligent Book"
The purpose of this study is to identify the defining features of the “smart book” concept as an innovative product of the contemporary publishing industry that integrates artificial intelligence technologies at all stages of content creation, adaptation, and consumption. The research substantiates the appropriateness of using the term “rozumna knyha” as a localized version of the notion Intelligent Book, emphasizing its applied, adaptive, and interactive nature. The methodology is based on a systematic review of scholarly literature, industry reports, and applied case studies, alongside a comparative analysis of traditional e-books and AI-integrated publishing products to highlight the most effective practices and technological solutions. The findings detail the key functional capabilities of smart books, including personalization, dynamic content adaptation, interactivity, multimedia integration, and real-time feedback. The study also outlines prospective development trajectories (e.g., AR/VR, voice interfaces, enhanced multimedia) and identifies ethical, technical, and financial challenges associated with implementation. It is emphasized that while not all conceptual models are realized in practice, they serve as indicators of possible directions for innovation and inquiry, shaped by technological, cultural, and societal factors. Finally, the article offers practical recommendations for publishers and developers on strategies for integrating intelligent technologies into publishing workflows to create competitive and technologically enriched products. This work makes both theoretical and applied contributions to the understanding of digital transformation in publishing and lays the groundwork for further interdisciplinary and empirical research
