Nativas da caatinga: um ensaio sobre a biodiversidade da flora da comunidade rural de Lagoa da Boa Vista e povoados circunvizinhos

This work is the result of an analysis of an environmental education workshop. This analysis involves qualitative, descriptive work developed through a teaching experiment. Participant observation was used as a data collection technique. The workshop was delivered to fifth grades students at the Lagoa da Boa Vista Municipal Elementary School and focused the flora of the Caatinga biome. This enabled the cataloging and recording of native species from rural communities in the city of Seabra in the Brazilian state of Bahia, through exsiccata. The aim was to raise awareness among students of the importance of the biome and to empower individuals to become agents in preserving and conserving local flora.
