Metal‐Free Carbon Co‐Catalysts for Up‐Conversion Photo‐Induced Catalytic Cancer Therapy (Adv. Mater. 42/2024)

Carbon-Based Metal-Free Co-Catalyst for Catalytic Cancer Therapy In article number 2408560, Zi Gu, Liming Dai, and co-workers develop, for the first time, a rational design strategy for the development of a metal-free carbon co-catalyst that is phosphorus-doped carbon nitride (P-C3N4) and graphene quantum dots (GQD) composite (GQD/P-C3N4) to utilize the GQD to upconvert the NIR light to visible light to activate P-C3N4 for photocatalytic oxidation of glucose into H2O2, followed by GQD-induced ROS generation from H2O2 for efficient catalytic cancer therapy through the cascade reactions.
