DRIVERS OF BUSINESS MODEL CHANGE: A MULTIDIMENSIONAL TYPOLOGY AND APPLIED INTERPRETATION
The article explores the transformation of business models of enterprises operating in a dynamic environment characterized by high levels of volatility, uncertainty, and complexity. It is argued that the drivers of change are not isolated impulses but form a multidimensional configuration of interactions that manifest at various levels of the environment - macro, meso, and micro. The aim of the study is to develop a typology of business model transformation drivers, taking into account their level of impact, nature of influence, and depth of transformative action. An analytical framework is proposed, combining four dimensions of influence: institutional, resource-based, behavioral, and network/systemic. Depending on the scope of change, the drivers are classified as determining, adaptive, or modifying. The study includes a critical review of scholarly approaches to understanding business model transformations, systematizes relevant drivers, and analyzes their effects within the author’s typological model. The methodological basis of the research includes a structural-analytical approach, typological generalization, and case study analysis as a tool for applied interpretation of the proposed framework. To demonstrate its practical applicability, the analytical model is tested through a case study of a local agricultural cooperative, which allows identifying typical configurations of interaction between internal and external transformation drivers. The findings can be used for strategic diagnostics, assessment of the adaptive potential of business models, and as a foundation for further empirical research across sectoral and regional contexts.
