Specific Features of the Use of Artificial Intelligence in the Field of Scientific Journalism in the Digital Era

The article examines the specific features of applying artificial intelligence (AI) in scientific journalism within the context of the digital economy, with a particular focus on the financial services industry. The study aims to identify the potentials, limitations, and ethical challenges of using generative AI tools in producing scientific and analytical publications. The study employs a mixed-method approach combining content analysis of AI-assisted texts, case studies, and expert interviews with scientific journalists and editors. The study also integrates comparative and machine-assisted analysis of texts generated by human authors and AI systems. The results demonstrate that AI technologies substantially increase the speed and efficiency of content production but often lead to stylistic homogenisation and the loss of authorial depth.Surveyed readers tend to show lower levels of trust in AI-generated materials, particularly when AI involvement is undisclosed.Ethical risks such as factual inaccuracies, algorithmic bias, and the "hallucination" of references are also highlighted. The article contributes to the international discourse on media digitalisation by integrating perspectives from communication studies, data science, and the economics of information. The findings suggest that AI should not replace human authorship but rather support it through hybrid systems combining automation and editorial control. These insights are particularly relevant for developing sustainable and responsible AI use in financial and scientific journalism.
